Ponyclub Massacre at Space 3
Ponyclub Massacre played the afternoon of the launch of Rose Turtle Ertler's album, Try Hard Trailer Trash at the now-no-more Space 3, Redfern, corner Regent & Cleveland Streets, Sydney
(there was barely any light at the gig and I pushed the 3200 film I had to about 5000 - it came up with heavy blacks and this was the only shot that worked of PCM)

Buggirl in the Kiln
a cold winter Saturday afternoon - Buggirl performed inside an old kiln at the Sydney Park brickworks, St Peters for the launch of an editon of Slit Magazine. There was minimal lighting and despite having 3200 speed film in my camera, it was hard to get any images except this one - I simply held the shutter open for a couple of seconds and scored this wonderful surreal image.

More favourite shots from the rock moll years
This shot of the Buggirl guitar (accompanied by Amber body parts), taken more than 5 years ago is a favourite of many.
A curious night out at the Empire Hotel Parramatta Road, Feb 2006 was Japanese all gel band, Ni hao. The hype was there, support was good. It was mid week & folks were waiting (some had jobs or uni to go to the next morning). Hinting at a Diva style - we waited - then finally on they came - lively & fast with striped socks and much Domo arigato!! Within 20 minutes -so exact, I suspect a stop watch was involved - they were done.
However, they were really good fun & very photogenic:
Exhibition is done but Scooter lives on
gigs coming up for Scooter include Sat 3rd April 2010 as a part of Sheilafest
Here's one of my favourites that I took at a great Scooter gig that featured Scum System Kill:

Finally - the Exhibition
I'm jumping in the deep end with the setting up of my 4th solo show:
5 years as a rock moll.
It's a documentary of the gigs I go to in the inner west of Sydney - mostly Scooter gigs - here's their blurb:
Scooter is a non-profit venture set up by a bunch of queer Anarcho punk girls in Sydney to provide space playing instruments and forming bands. It also involves a network of girl zine producers, artists and contacts with overseas / interstate girl bands with similar focus. Live bands perform at every gig along with djs.
I went along to a Scooter gig about 6 or 7 years ago (a late comer) and have made fabulous friends, heard some excellent and not so excellent music drank copious amounts of beer and, along the way, have documented some of the gigs as a project using 3200 speed black and white film that I hand process in the bathroom & then scan into a computer in the corner of the lounge room. All the images for this exhibition will be printed on a professional Lambda printer at Pixel Perfect in Chippendale.
I've put together the first of my promotion below (I hope the first prototype I put into cyber land isn't accessible... it was late and my spelling sucks). I'll be taking this one off to OfficeWorks to play with their Xerox machine and make a few A3posters - That's Kristy Machine in an audience moment - obviously a really cool band was playing that day.

January 2004
Here's Buggirl 3 years ago. Now 3 years later she is somewhere in the air, flying back home after 8 months in Europe. They land and then play a gig for NYE - don't know how that will be (we may have to prop them) but being the true professional rock gods they are, reckon it'll be great.
We'll be there - Buggirl and, yaye: Baby Machine as well the grunting Richie and the Creeps - good gig!
Think i already insulted the receptionist when i confirmed our hotel room - said i was a bit concerned about Wollongong getting booked out - it being such a vibrant and happening place...

Baby Machine Rock
April 2006 - the utterly lovely Kristy playing with Baby Machine - the gig was for SheilaFest's Scooter Marathon. Headlining was Gina Birch (UK - The Raincoats!!!), Baby Machine (who also conducted a rock workshop - the participants all got on stage later and performed - sehr cool!), Bracode, 99 (Melbourne), The Thaw, Milk (Melbourne), JeanDark (now in Germany), Gemma Jones(Melbourne).
I am really excited about the Gina Birch images from this gig but they won't go online until the exhibtion (they are very special). Will keep folks posted on that - I think I'm about one 20th (or less!) the way through 5 years as a rock mole negatives (should it be spelt "moll"?)

Bitchslap at Newtown Fair Day
A 10.30AM gig on a Sunday morning, up the road at Newtown Fair Day - if Liz hadn't asked me to take a few shots for the record, we would've missed a really, really good set. I haven't seen them live with the new drummer, who is excellent. The band was polished, the sound was excellent and I am really tired - back home after getting annoyed that I had my bag checked! (hang on, are we in Newtown?? can't be - the tosser even called me "Ma'm" - what a fuck wit). There are even mounted police! So many people just shrug their shoulders and say, "oh well"... No glass, no BYO and the only beer on sale - $6 for a can (!!!) is shit beer - not even any light beer on a warm day. Oh, bleet, bleet - I'm supposed to be here for the music so - here are a couple of the lastest and best line up of Bitchslap - cool, very cool.
